The Ranger isn't known for its off-roading capabilities, though the new Tremor Package helps enhance its performance. Driving day-to-day can feel a bit rough, as the Ranger isn't quite as agile or responsive as the Gladiator.

The Gladiator follows the same iconic design as the Jeep Wrangler, and looks quite similar aside from the addition of its 5-foot bed. Inside, the Gladiator comfortably seats five, with ample head and leg room for front and rear passengers. Additional features include a 5 or 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, a Class IV trailer hitch, LED headlights, and an available portable Bluetooth speaker that charges while you drive, so you can bring your music with you when you reach your destination. The upper two trims, the Rubicon and Mojave, have standard off-roading equipment like all-terrain tires, FOX shock absorbers, and increased ground clearance.

2021 Ford Ranger Features & Design

The 2021 Ford Ranger features a similar design as it did in its 2011 model year, with a simple, classic grille design featuring the blue oval Ford logo. Inside, the Ranger seats five, though head and leg room fall a few inches short of the Jeep Gladiator. However, entry and exit are easy thanks to the wide-opening side doors. The Ford Ranger features automatic headlights, 16-inch steel wheels, and a pre-collision warning system as standard equipment. Some features of the upper trim levels include a Wi-Fi hotspot, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and the CoPilot 360 suite of safety features and driver aids. Many of the Ranger's available features are bundled into packages, such as the 501A which adds remote start and premium audio, or the Tremor Off-Road package, which adds some more rugged equipment.
